When I was 14, I got hold of No Doubt's Tragic Kingdom album, and I think I must've listened to it a hundred times.

I knew all the words by heart, I could yodel like Gwen and I even made half ass attempts at playing their stuff on the guitar... only to discover that their music was so elaborate I couldn't do it!

Anyway, when they came to KL years ago I was as broke as a student and couldn't make my way to and from KL to Serdang anyway (no one else was interested, and I didn't want to go alone).

So, when I got hold of tickets to the F1 Rocks concert in Singapore, where No Doubt, ZZ Top and N.E.R.D were performing I just HAD to go!

The journey (by car) was long and arduos, and I missed N.E.R.D (they came out first!!!), but I got to catch zz top. . wow..love the beards. My eldest bro is a huge fan so i got him a t-shirt (SGD 40). Hanging out with a bunch of guys also meant lots of beer.. which helped pass the time.

I didn't worry about needing to pee in disgusting toilets because by george, were the toilets there clean!!! they all had toilet paper, running water and soap even! Kudos to the organisers!

The No Doubt performance was awesome beyond words. Gwen was in her element, and the band members were full of boundless energy! AWESOME!

And... I want her abs! She's had two kids ok! If she's 35 and looks like that, how hard can it be for a 27-year-old with nothing to worry about but herself?

Unfortunately for my 'take pictures of stylish/hot girls for fashion piece', there were no stylish/hot girls at the concert.

Maybe it was my misguided expectations from the Gaga concert a month earlier. Girls came in wigs, lots of makeup, well thought-out outfits and even high heels! (to a grass and gravel concert mind you). This time around, the only thing in sight were white dudes in t shirts and shorts.

As for the women, no one was dressed up. All the girls, young and old were either in boring shorts and t shirts or boring jeans and t-shirts. BORING!

Ok, to be fair I too, was in a t shirt and skirt but mine was creative! Check it out below :) And my friend made some effort with the accessories by dressing up her outfit.

Yes, I know its a concert and we're going to get sweaty and its uncomfortable and a hassle, but its cool to wear flats, and you might just get picked out of the crowd to be interviewed on TV (read: me) although I'm not too sure if that interview will air.. it was with VJ Dom of Channel V *swoon.

Moral of the story: Always look good. YAY!This woman behind me looked ok, btw.
