Tyson Ritter is a force of nature. Ok, let me start at the beginning.

The lead singer of All-American Rejects? That skinny guy with eyes-too-big and a sunken face? Ew! Who would think he was a hunk?

That was me, several months ago. But after meeting the band last Saturday and watching them perform that same night, I was instantly converted.

It happened when I was hurrying to get to the press conference in a hotel in KL - I spotted four guys in the lobby, taking pictures with a bunch of girls. When I looked closer it was the rejects! All four of them (Tyson, Mike, Nick and Chris) were posing for photos and goofing around with fans. It was truly an 'aww' moment because the gang had actually just returned from a meet-the-fans session at Pavilion KL.

They were no less friendly and charismatic during the press conference - they were so pumped with energy and enthusiasm it was difficult to not laugh at everything they said.

Tyson joked about his knee injury (the reason the initial concert date - Oct 10, had been postponed)"I was dancing with just my underwear on and I was covered in glitter". How can you not be taken by someone who immediately puts almost naked visuals of himself into your head?

Next he went on to talk about how awesome his Malaysian fans are.

"Our fans in Malaysia actually set up this Get Well Site for me. It's crazy. We're humbled. Its nice that people here are so genuinely sweet. I mean, we're American, we expect abrasiveness. "

"We all have twitter accounts. We LOVE twitter. It's like, I send a tweet out at 4am back home and there'll be a thousand replies from people in Malaysia. Its amazing!"

OMG Swoon because then.. HE SMILED!

His mood didn't diminish at all throughout the day - no one had a bad thing to say about him or the other members of the band at all! During the concert he was a ball of energy (despite having just recovered from his injury), talking to the audience between songs and striking poses throughout.

And to prove yet again that he is just an amazing guy, a friend of mine left for Europe on Sunday night, and happened to bump into him at the airport. She asked him for a photo and he obliged, no media or cameras present. What a guy.

Those too-big eyes and sunken face and skinny frame. sigh.
