Last year’s winner Cyrens smile for the camera along with MARIGOLD HL Low Fat Milk deputy general manager Michael Ong.

Hurrah! The nation’s premier inter-school cheerleading competition is back.

CALLING all cheerleaders out there. Bring out the pompoms and get ready to cheer your hearts out as Cheer 2013 is here.

Presented by MARIGOLD HL Milk with main sponsor Silkygirl and co-sponsor Sugus, Cheer 2013 was launched this week, and the national cheerleading competition definitely looks more exciting than ever.

The Cyrens will be going all out to make it four championships in a row, saying they’ve been training hard every single day since last year’s competition.

The launch in Bandar Utama, Petaling Jaya kicked off with a dynamic performance by Cheer 2012 all-girl and co-ed division winners Cyrens from SM Sri Kuala Lumpur and Zodiac from SMK Kepong respectively.

MARIGOLD HL Low Fat Milk deputy general manager Michael Ong said the company is proud to be associated with Cheer once again.

“The cheerleading event is special because it helps to foster family spirit. It does very well in bringing families together,” said Ong.

“I have always believed that each tournament has to be better than the previous year – this is where we see the continuous improvement with Cheer. That’s why I’m very much looking forward to this year’s final.”

This highly anticipated competition is supported by the Youth and Sports Ministry and the Education Ministry, and is sanctioned by CHARM (the Cheerleading Association and Register of Malaysia).

Cheer 2013 is currently the biggest cheerleading competition for secondary school students in the country.

“Cheer is an event we find hard to resist because it is always fun, and brimming with life and the energy,” said Alliance Cosmetics CEO Ng Chee Eng, representing makeup brand Silkygirl. “We see it every year, and it is just amazing. We definitely do not want to miss that.

“We also hope our products will help unleash the girls’ confidence in this competition.”
