OUR next BRATs destination is a lotus-filled lake that hides mysteries in its depths: some say an ancient sunken city, others claim a guardian dragon that protects the lake and its inhabitants.

Yup, we’re talking about Tasik Chini!

Thirty aspiring journalists aged 16 to 19 will undergo a four-day, three-night crash course in the basics of multimedia journalism, also known as the BRATs young journalist workshop.

But the real fun lies in the assignments. Tasik Chini is a treasure trove of ecological wonders, so look out for the exciting stories and videos that will be published after the camp.

Even after the camp ends, the BRATs journey keeps going. The participants will be the newest additions to the #BRATsFam, and can continue to contribute stories to The Star NiE’s BRATs section, or even intern with The Star’s award-winning youth platform, R.AGE.

So if you have a passion for journalism, sign up today. Adventures await!

Join the #BRATsFam!

If you’re a Malaysian aged 16 to 19 with a passion for journalism, what are you waiting for? We’ve extended the deadline for submissions to May 19, so it’s still not too late to apply for the June and August camps.

Log on to rage.com.my/bratsrecruitment and you might just embark on a BRATsventure with us!
