R.AGE PICKS:

IT'S hard to pick a favourite Michael Jackson track when there are sooooo many great ones around. But we did our best.

Nasa Maria Entaban:
Beat It - It's an awesome catchy dance track.

Heal the World - A beautiful melody with an important message.

Sharmila Nair:
Smooth Criminal - I love the video clip and have always tried to copy the moves. I failed.

Beat It - I remember, back then, my older cousins going crazy over this song. In order to be accepted by them, I sung and danced to this song at family gatherings.

Max Choong
Billie Jean - I totally fell in love with it when I first heard it. The background high pitch "hee-hee" sound doesn't seem silly at all. And this is also probably the best song to dance Michael Jackson on.

Smooth Criminal - Just got the cool persona to this song and I love it. And nonetheless the music video was amazing!

Ian Yee:
Black or White - I remember watching the music video for this over and over again on the VCR. It was ground-breaking stuff with the morphing faces, not to mention the bold commentary on racism. MJ had a gift for more than just writing amazing music and performing - he had a revolutionary sense of personal artistic direction and a daring if somewhat naive stance on social issues years before this age of manufactured, dictated and regurgitated pop music came about.

Heal the World - It's been played so often that some people might find it cheesy. But when I heard it on the radio the morning he died, I wept (had to turn off the radio to avoid making a scene). The innocence and sincerity in his voice still shines through on this song in spite of the negativity directed at him throughout most of his life, and I think the artistes of today would do well to learn a thing or two from it.

Melody L. Goh:
The Way You Make Me Feel - A track that can easily lift my spirits whenever I'm down.

Billie Jean - IMHO, the BEST pop song, ever. MJ's singing is tops in this one, too.

Niki Cheong
We Are The World - I was seven and only starting to discover my own music idols. The song was beautifully written by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie and the fact that so many stars were involve in the charity project just drew me to it. I sing it in the shower till today.

Man in the Mirror - I know Thriller was revolutionary but Bad was released at a time when my friends were all michael Jackson crazy. This was my favourite song from the album, there's something haunting about it!
