It was a heinous crime that shocked the world — 132 school children and nine staff members at the Army Public School in Peshawar, Pakistan, massacred by the Pakistani Taliban.
Seven armed men wearing bomb vests laid siege to the school for eight hours, gunning down children and teachers everywhere they went.
Many have taken to social media to express their profound grief, while others have sought to provide some form of relief through messages of comfort and hope.
Here are some of the most heart-rending — and comforting — messages we’ve found on Twitter.

P.S. A photo of a bloodied baby’s shoe has been circulating on social media, with many claiming it to be from a victim of the Peshawar attack. The photo was actually taken in 2008 by an Israeli photographer.
