YOU would think that after the 2014 BRATs Langkawi camp, we’d give the island a break. But it turns out, Langkawi has so much more to offer that we had to go back for the 2015 Year-End camp!

During the four-day programme at Berjaya Langkawi Resort, 20 BRATs alumni from the past three years got an opportunity to work closely with the R.AGE team to learn more about what it takes to be a modern journalist.

The camp, conducted by R.AGE editor Ian Yee and his team of journalists, saw 20 BRATs alumni return for an advanced workshop that included topics like copy-clearing, news writing and live social media reporting.

So whether they were zip-lining at the Skytrex Adventure Park or planting mangrove saplings along the Kilim River, the BRATs were on full journalist mode, conducting interviews, taking pictures and recording videos, on top of updating the BRATs Twitter account on the go.

Safety first! Before embarking on their Skytrex adventure, the BRATs underwent a very thorough safety briefing.

They also stopped by Teluk Mempelam with the Rotary Club of Langkawi to do a clean-up, and left with four bags of trash!
