COUNTRY singer LeAnn Rimes was recently featured on the cover of Shape, and it would have gone by unnoticed if not for the furore over it.

Some readers who had a “problem” with the magazine featuring LeAnn on its cover (for the third time), wrote in stating their disappointment, even calling it “a big mistake”.

You see, not many people like LeAnn since she hooked up with actor Eddie Cibrian last year. The couple were both married to other people when they fell in love while filming Northern Lights together.

It also doesn’t help that Eddie’s ex-wife talks trash about LeAnn and claims that the singer now tries to mother the two children the Cibrians had. Oh, and LeAnn’s ex-husband had also gone on Twitter to call her a cheat and a homewrecker. Ouch.

So yeah, not many people like LeAnn (though she does have the voice of an angel, I must say).

The readers who sent in their complaints in turn received an e-mail (made public by one of the recipients) from Shape’s editor-at-large Valerie Latona. She said:

“You are all in good company… as you all agree Shape has made a terrible mistake in putting LeAnn Rimes on the cover.”

Now, all these goings-on would still be under the radar, if it were not for one of the readers maliciously twisting the content of the e-mail. Soon enough, gossip blogs started writing about how the editor is personally apologising for featuring a husband-stealer on the cover and admitting that it was a terrible mistake.

If only one had bothered to read the e-mail carefully, they would have realised that Valerie was not calling the cover a terrible mistake, but acknowledging that some readers thought it was.

In fact, in the rest of the e-mail (which only some blogs bothered to feature) Valerie said:

“Please know that our putting her on the cover was not meant to put a husband-stealer on a pedestal, but to show how we all are human. And this woman in particular found strength in exercise in what she said was her most difficult personal moment. But it did not come across that way… And for that I’m terribly sorry. I hope that we can do better the next time for those of you that will give us another chance.”

Okay, thank you for the explanation but why is Valerie even explaining and why are people still angry at LeAnn?

It’s been over a year already, people, and even LeAnn’s ex-husband has moved on and found a new girlfriend.

And oh, Eddie’s ex-wife was just arrested for driving under the influence, so there, she’s no angel herself after all.

I mean if people can forgive others who have cheated on their spouses, or have wrecked marriages, then LeAnn, too, deserves a chance, don’t you think?

The ORIGINAL homewrecker?

Seriously, which other homewrecker could be more famous than Angelina Jolie?

You guys know that I worship her and adore her to death, but I have to admit that she was mainly to blame for breaking up Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston’s marriage.

Well, whether Brad and Jennifer were happily married is another question, but the point is that everyone has moved on… Angelina, Brad, Jennifer and some of the crazy people who have been obsessed with the whole situation. People have moved on.

Calling Angelina a homewrecker and hating her is so last season, and now people seem to have forgotten that Brad was once married to the Friends star.

But if you think that LeAnn should be hated for being a cheater, then why is the world not hung up on Jennifer Lopez, who cheated on her second husband with Ben Affleck? People still adore her and buy her perfumes and watch her awful movies.

Years ago, in an interview on the Oprah Winfrey Show, Oprah asked Jennifer if she was happily married to dancer Cris Judd.

Jennifer replied, “Yes.”

A week after taping the show, guess what? Jennifer filed for divorce! She then hooked up with Ben Affleck, whom she worked closely with on Jersey Girl (or was it Gigli? Does it matter? They were both horrible movies) and ended up getting engaged to him. But yeah, like you already know, that didn’t work out and now she’s married to Marc Anthony.

Do you remember this romantic movie scene of Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck? Of course you don't. It's from "Gigli". Have a good, long look at yourself in the mirror if you do.

Jennifer has a new American Idol gig and is in talks of producing a sitcom (or some other show) in which she’ll be acting. Yeay, I’m excited (note sarcasm).

It seems that there’s no slowing down this mother-of-two.

Well, if Jennifer was given the chance to straighten her messy love life and start over, then I guess LeAnn also deserves a break. Now if only people would stop bugging her.
