The big news for all Magic: the Gathering fans last week was the fact that set 3 of the new Mirrodin cycle will be one of two names, “Mirrodin Pure” or “New Phyrexia”.

The deal is, Wizards of the Coast will announce the winners of the war between the nations of Mirrodin, and the Phyrexia coalition, at a later date.

No specifics on how they will decide this – what would be cool though would be for us players to decide the fate of the storyline, a la Legends of the Five Rings-style.

In the meantime, the official spoiler page for Mirrodin Besieged is up now, here (http://bit.ly/dReuPX). Not many cards yet, but it’ll be inundated as we near the official release date.

And speaking of Mirrodin Besieged, the pre-release tournament for the set will happen during the weekend of January 29 and 30.
