It’s time for some Magic the Gathering prerelease tournament updates – just in time for the upcoming holiday season!

In a special offer that’s valid till Dec 31, a four-session pre-release pre-registration will net you a free Mirrodin Besieged t-shirt and three extra Mirrodin Besieged booster packs.

Mirrodin Besieged is the upcoming sequel to Scars of Mirrodin, and promises to be a chockfull of artifact-related goodness. Among the predicted heavy hitters are an all-new version of the mythical planeswalker Tezzereth, which should be a hot card to own in the opening weeks at least.

The first cards are being “spoiler-ed” over at www.mananation.com, and once Wizards comes back from their Christmas break, they should be revealing the first official spoilers then.

Make a note of these dates right before the Chinese New Year break, as the weekend of January 29 to 30 will be the weekend for the prerelease events. The price of admission will be RM70 per session, and RM60 for each subsequent session.

As usual, a special commemorative foil card will be given to each participant, on a while stocks last basis as usual.

Earn more wins and you’ll also net more packs as prizes: a four-win record in the Swiss style tournament will get you six Mirrodin Besieged packs, while three will get you four packs, two wins give you two packs and the zero-game or single-game winners will take home one Mirrodin Besieged pack.
