There are plenty of ways to play multiplayer Magic: the Gathering, but the latest and newest multiplayer product, Archenemy, has got to be among the coolest!

I had the chance to try it over the weekend, and first impressions are – it’s awesome!

Archenemy is a new one-to-many format, where a single player, the Archenemy, takes on several players at once.

The Archenemy has Schemes, oversized cards, which enhances his plays, and is often detrimental to everyone else. He also starts with 40 life, instead of the usual 20.

Wizards of the Coast has released 4 different Archenemy decks for starters – each comes with its own unique assortment of Schemes, as well as a decent 60-card deck that is quite playable.
