THE 2012 US presidential election wasn’t the only thing that made headlines this week. Celebrities were also up to their old tricks and gave everyone lots to talk about.

For the win

Twitterverse went a little crazy after Barack Obama was re-elected as the US President and celebrities joined in the celebration, tweeting their support and joy for the people’s favourite president.

Katy Perry tweeted: “DONE AND DUSTED!!! The people have the power! Proud to stand by you for 4 more years”.

Ian Somerhalder from The Vampire Diaries said: “I’m so proud of us as a people. Even people in other countries contributed to this event. A global group hug…Wow. Wow. Wow,”

The Avenger’s Mark Ruffalo also tweeted: “The American People beat bigotry and racial hatred tonight. The Working Class wins. It is a great night.. I am so proud to be an American!!! I love our country and everyone in it. Even those who do not share my beliefs.”

Beyonce shows her support for President Barack Obama.

Beyonce even wrote a letter to Obama stating: “You are the reason my daughter and nephew will grow up knowing that they can truly be ANYTHING they want to be.” Aww…

Sharm says: Let’s hope that Mr. President would stop by our country the next time he plans to visit Indonesia.

Oh no, Lilo!

Lindsay Lohan is in trouble yet again. What’s new, right? The actress, who everyone believed had finally found her way out of her personal and professional rut, is back in trouble with the authorities and she might even be sent back to jail.

In June, Lohan told police that she wasn’t driving the car that crashed into the back of a truck, and that statement could very well do her harm as there were several witnesses who saw her driving.

The Liz and Dick actress is still on probation for a jewelery theft case from earlier this year and the 26-year-old star may be found guilty in violation of her probation and sent back to jail.

Sharm says: Is it even worth feeling sorry for Lilo any more?

BFFs forever

Dakota Fanning and Kristen Stewart have been friends since their days of working together in Twilight and The Runaways, so it’s only natural that they defend each other out of love. When asked about Stewart’s cheating scandal, Fanning was quick to defend her pal and told InStyle magazine that people just need to mind their own business.

“Everyone thinks they have the right to, you know, publicise the struggles and sadness and heartbreak and all of that. It’s like, ‘Why do you think you have the authority to judge people’s experiences?’,” said the 18-year-old actress.

Sharm says: That’s some wise words from our sweet, lil’ Dakota. Everyone, listen to her.

A secret artist

Chris Brown has often been in the limelight … and usually, they’re for all the wrong reasons. The 23-year-old singer opened up to Prestige Hong Kong, and surprisingly sounded very mature and intelligent in the interview. He also spoke about his painting and wanting to be a director one day.

“Not to be arrogant when I say it, but I want to be the Steven Spielberg of music videos, to be innovative and young, not to put a bar on it just because of budgetary issues or certain capabilities.”

Sharm says: Sorry Chris, but everything you say does sound arrogant to us. “Face problem”, I guess.

Tell us what you think!
