HAPPINESS is something that deserves to be shared. And now you can spread the joy through Petron Malaysia’s annual National Student Art and Photography Competition, Vision Petron.
All you have to do is paint, snap a picture or record a video that best depicts the theme – Journey To Happiness.
Do keep in mind you have to be a college or university student aged 18 to 28 to join this competition.
There is no limit on the number of entries a participant can submit. However, each participant is entitled to only one prize from each category.
Artwork will be judged based on originality, creativity, and composition or picture impact.
Shortlisted artwork from each category will be displayed at an art exhibition organised by Petron Malaysia and featured in their corporate diaries and calendars.
The cash prizes up for grabs are equally enticing. Winners from each category – painting, photography and videography – will be rewarded RM3,000 as well as a trophy and certificate.
Runners-up will be awarded cash prizes of RM2,000 and RM1,000, and there will be three consolation prizes of RM500.
All participants also get a certificate, whether they win or not.
If you need any help or advice, Petron Malaysia will be conducting a series of workshops along with the contest briefing on Aug 15 at noon at the courtyard of D6 Sentul East, Kuala Lumpur.
There’ll be an art jamming session with artists Elnaz Rostami and Kenzy Chew, and a photography workshop with photographers Prof Ishak Abdul Hamid, Nazli Zainal Abidin and Azman Karib.
Attending the workshops might give you an advantage when you work on your submissions as you’re bound to pick up useful tips that will help enhance your skills in your respective category.
And here’s the best part: participants can submit artwork created at the workshop for the Vision Petron contest!
So get your creative caps on because the closing date for submissions is Sept 4. The sky is the limit for imagination, so go for it!
