IF you weren’t at KL Live on Wednesday night, you missed out on one heck of a show.
Lauren Mayberry, Iain Cook and Martin Doherty of Scottish band Chvrches (pronounced ‘Churches’) killed it at their Urbanscapes Satellite Show on Nov 19. The trio entertained the crowd with songs from their debut album, The Bones of What You Believe. The crowd favourite was, of course, their biggest single, The Mother We Share.
In case you were curious, their setlist was:
- We Sink
- Lies
- Lungs
- Gun
- Night Sky
- Get Away
- Science
- Recover
- Tether
- Tide
- The Mother We Share
- You Caught The Light
- Dead Air
- By The Throat
Some of the fans who arrived to the venue early were lucky enough to meet the band in person. Those who waited after the show to meet the band were left slightly disappointed.
Funnily enough, keyboardist, guitarist and occasional vocalist Martin Doherty once told an American radio station, “I’m definitely familiar with the experience of being 12-14 years old and waiting for hours outside a venue to talk to my favorite bands”.
Overall, many of Chvrches’ fans in KL were completely delighted by their haunting music and were left yearning for more.
Don’t forget to check out the other upcoming Urbanscapes Satellite Shows with Mogwai on Nov 30 and Tenacious D on Dec 1.
