Like everybody else on this planet, I didn’t think that Russell Brand any intentions of asking Katy’s hand in marriage…ever.

Katy and Russell engaged!

Her rep, confirmed to JustJared.com that the news indeed was true and this is supposedly how the whole thing went down:

Katy, 25, and Russell, 34, got engaged on New Year’s Eve in India, where he proposed to her in a tent at the foot of a mountain.

Sharm says: Congrats to the lucky couple. Friendly advice though…don’t procreate. We have enough crazies to deal with already. Thanks.
