IT IS a brand new year and that can only mean one thing, it’s time to make some new resolutions.
Unless, of course, you’re like me and you are still working on the previous years’ unfulfilled ones.
Back in 1999, I made a promise to myself that I’d lose 10kg before the end of the year and ermm … yeah, it’s still the number one resolution on my list every year.
The thing is, I never specified by the end of which year I’d lose all that weight, so the resolution is still valid, you see.
Everybody makes resolutions, even celebrities whom we presume have everything in their lives and couldn’t ask for more.
This year, they too want to gain, lose, earn, feel, achieve, resolve, remember and enjoy things, which they apparently didn’t do last year. See, they’re so like us!
For 2010, The Simple Life star Nicole Richie wishes for just that — a simple life. Her resolution is to have health and happiness in 2010, and she preferably wants to have all that with a cup of coffee in hand.
”Quitting caffeine, NOT one of my new year’s resolutions. At least I’m honest,” she tweeted.
Nicole’s frenemy, Lindsay Lohan, has far more than coffee on her mind, though. This year, the 23-year-old fading starlet, whose love/hate relationship with DJ Samantha Ronson was public throughout 2009, knows better than to hand her heart to someone who’ll play it like a turntable.
”My new year’s resolution is to stop letting the lucky few that have my heart, try2constantly tear me down. 2010 is about moving forward, not backwards. Leaving the bad (people, habits, and negative energy behind) time to make changes-right!?!? :)” says Lindsay on her Twitter page.
You know what, I don’t think that Lindsay resolution will last even until the end of this month. Why? Because there’s a picture showing Lindsay kissing a male, wait for this, deejay at the New Year’s party she was at in St Bart’s recently.
The Pantsfree One aka Lady Gaga plans to enjoy life, Andy Warhol and Electroblond this year and Wizards of Waverley Place’s Selena Gomez believes 2010 is ”the year of no fear”. Selena’s fellow Disney alum Ashley Tisdale is looking forward to being her natural self and she’s planning to achieve this by doing a Tyra Banks (removing her hair extensions, just in case you didn’t get the reference.)
Ashley posted online a picture of her head, which looks way lighter (than usual) without all that hair weighing it down, and captioned it with this message ”Yay!!! its my own hair!! no more extensions this new year.”
I predict it’s going to be a quiet year in the Alba-Warren household as the Fantastic Four actress, Jessica Alba has made up her mind to talk less and listen more in 2010. Who knew the sour-faced and yet inexplicably hot Jessica was a chatterbox in real life? The papparazzi pictures of her looking grumpy and moody all the time sure fooled me.
But the best resolution so far has to be the one by talkshow host Ellen DeGeneres who tweeted up a storm in the days leading to the New Year, starting with this message:
”Happy New Year’s Eve Eve. (I like to get started early).” Then on New Year’s Eve, Ellen tweeted ”One more day to check everything off your 2009 ‘To Do’ List. (That reminds me, I need to make a 2009 ‘To Do’ List.).”
On the first day of the New Year, she said ”Happy New Year! I can’t wait to get my 2010 on. Right after I take this nap.” and finally, two days later, comes this message, ”I haven’t broken any of my New Year’s resolutions yet! I can’t wait to get started, though.”
Sharm says: My other resolution is to pray everyday for Donatella Versace, hoping that she hires a better plastic surgeon this year.
Tell us what you think!
