So a Seth Rogen film might just set off an international conflict. Who’d have thought?
Rogen’s latest comedy, The Interview, was set for a Christmas release, but its subject matter — a highly-implausible assassination attempt on North Korean leader Kim Jong-un — made it the target of hacker group Guardians Of Peace.
The group launched an incredibly damaging attack on Sony Pictures‘ (the studio producing The Interview) computer systems, stealing and leaking confidential documents, emails and even movie scripts (of the upcoming James Bond movie) on the Internet.
Now, reports are saying that US officials have determined that North Korea is connected to the hacking, which clearly constitutes an act of cyberterrorism. Watch this space…
