Has everyone caught The Hobbit yet? Well, I have, and I have to say that while it was a decent movie, I’m still more of a Lord of the Rings fan (yes, that earlier trilogy).

Looks like Cryptozoic made the smart move to cash in on all things Middle Earth, with an LOTR game, a(nother) deck-building game (DBG) to be specific.

In this DBG, you play Frodo, Sam, Aragorn, Gandalf or another key hero from the original 2001 movie franchise. With photo imagery from that classic trilogy, this looks set to be a simple and fun romp as players aim to defeat the evil forces of Middle Earth, specifically Sauron’s minions!

There is mention of this game using a Cerberus Engine: Middle Earth gameplay system, which makes it compatible with other games of similar theme. I smell other DBGs for the movies, yes!

The LOTR DBG ships this month, and should be available in better game stores everywhere, real soon!
