IF YOU fancy yourself musically talented, there is another platform for you to impress someone … who knows, it could lead to stardom.
But for starters, you have to get into an audition to perform at the AloudAsia showcase – a bi-monthly stage for established, upcoming and undiscovered Malaysian musical acts organised by Momentum (the engagement arm of the McCann Worldgroup).
“AloudAsia exposes undiscovered and upcoming musical talent which we have in Malaysia. Regardless of genre, background or ethnicity, musicians want their voices heard and their music recognised. AloudAsia is the place for these musicians. Here they are able to express themselves and showcase their talent for everyone to witness,” says head of Momentum Andrew Pinto.
A month prior to each showcase, “Open AloudAsia” will host auditions to scout for undiscovered talents to perform the opening acts for the showcases.
Having completed their first showcase in June, the next showcase is scheduled to take place on Sept 24 at Bentley Music Auditorium, Mutiara Damansara, Selangor.
Performing artistes such as Estranged, Altimet, Paperplane Pursuit and Beat The System will be featured at the upcoming AloudAsia: Where The Music Gets Heard Volume 2. Also set to take the stage are the talents who have made the cut from recent Open AloudAsia auditions namely Angie Lym, Eliza Thomas and Bohemian.
In addition to this line-up of performances, three-piece vocal group K-Town Clan will be launching their new album that is supported by AloudAsia.
Eventually, AloudAsia will look into conducting mentor programs for budding talents to learn from established musical artist. There are also plans to create an online portal on local music, as well as plans to organise a festival comprising of various acts and genres at the end of the planned 12 AloudAsia showcases.
Tickets for AloudAsia: Where The Music Gets Heard Volume 2 are priced at RM30 for adults and RM15 for students. Upcoming event details as well as participation details are accessible through AloudAsia’s Facebook Fan Page at http://www.facebook.com/AloudAsia.
