Last month I wrote (https://rage.com.my/class-wars) about how me and my gaming group have gone back into playing the World of Warcraft TCG (WoW TCG): no specific reasons for doing so, but mainly because we decided to relive old times and get our other mates who have not tried it yet, to have a go at it.
It’s Month 2 of this little experiment, and I’ve to say things are humming along nicely. Thanks to Mr Cheah, who runs the Damansara Jaya branch of Comics Corner, we now have more than enough cards to build decent decks to pass along to the newer ones in the group.
Well, truth be told, stocks of the game are a little hard to come by, but since we’re just playing with what’s available, the loose packs of Scourgewar and Through the Dark Portal, plus some assorted starter decks, will do nicely.
If you look hard enough, there’s even stocks of newer expansions such as Wrathgate, though at RM14 a booster pack, I’m not sure if that fits into the whole spirit of “playing with whatever’s on hand.”
I’m personally a keen proponent of buying playsets of cards if they’re really cheap: MTGMintcard.com is certainly one such website that gives you tons of WoW commons and uncommon for cheap, and the occasional bulk rare of course.
Shipping times are quite fast too, naturally, since they operate out of Hong Kong.
And to help you scan through expansion sets easily, apart from having to click on the card images one by one, you can try WoWTCGdb (www.wowtcgdb.com). The guys running the website have done an excellent job in making sure a number of the sets there, can be displayed and downloaded in one shot.
In case you’re wondering, yes, I’m game to pass free decks to anyone who’s interested. The group plays in the Damansara Jaya area, so if you’re keen to make your way there, leave me a post below, or get me on Twitter (see below).
I’ll certainly be also conversing on the latest news and updates, so feel free to follow me on Twitter at www.twitter.com/arcturus_mengsk.
